Elappully in Palakkad, has won the best panchayath award in the social reality show, Green Kerala Express, telecasted in Doordarshan.
The panchayat won Rs 1 crore as prize money.
The integrated dairy farming project conducted by the panchayat was selected in the reality show.
Akathethara panchayat in Palakkad, came second and Adat panchayat from Thrissur came third.
Aryanad, Kunnathukal, Koratty, Meenangadi, Mananthavadi, Nilambur, Kodiyathur, Sooranadu North, Kannadi, Elappuly and Akathethara Palamel, Cheriyanad, Kanjikkuzhi etc were some of the panchayaths who were featured in the finals.
