Trivandrum will be the home for the first professional college exclusively for architecture in the state.
A new architecture colleges will be set up at Vellanad at Trivandrum by Narayan and Vaidyanathan Charitable Educational Trust.
Architect N. Mahesh is behind the venture.
The college will be affiliated to Kerala University and will conduct five year Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) course recognised by AICTE.
The college will offer specialisation in Interior Design, Town Planning, Environment Protection, Landscaping, Structural Design, Green Building Technology and lot more.
An 18 crore worth campus will be setup at Vellanad in the outskirts of the city. The college can occupy 80 students and more than 500 staff members. Hostel facility, canteen facility, advanced research offerings will also be available.
Prof. Jayakumar J Pillai of NIT Kozhikode has taken charge as the Principal of the college.
