Trivandrum, 25 June 2011: The SFI march against self financing colleges turned violent in the capital resulting in lathicharge and damage to public property.
The Niyamasabha march conducted by Students Federation of India turned violen t when it reached the University College premises. The protestors pelted stones against the police who were present to control the march. Police had to resort to lathicharge and use grenades to control the students.
Several SFI members, policemen and media persons were admitted to the hospital following injuries.
