Trivandrum, 19 November 2011: An earthquake of magnitude 4.7 hit Trivandrum at 4:10 pm today (19/11/2011). As per reports, several regions of the district especially areas adjacent to the beach experienced mild tremors. The epicentre of the quake has been identified south of Trivandrum in the sea. However no Tsunami warning has been issued.
The quake occured at a depth of 10 km in the Lakshadweep sea, 341 kms south west of Colombo, 600 kms from Trivandrum
No damage has been reported yet.
