Trivandrum, January 2, 2012: Mathrubhumi publication, one of the most influential media group in Kerala, is all set to Air its visual media version - Mathrubhumi News Channel.
The channel will launch in April 2012 with a backup of a bunch of mostly loved professionals like J. Gopikrishnan [2G Spectrum fame] and Unni Balakrishnan, who is now working with Asianet News.
Mathrubhumi is going to follow the steps of their biggest print media competitor, Malayala Manorama in the news presentation in channels by classifying Kerala in to 3 basic circles - South, Central and North.
At present the Indiavision and Asianet Newsleads the News channel table where Manorama News and Reporter TV are contesting hard to make their presence felt. As Kaumudi channel, JanapriyaVision from K. Muralidharan and Surya TV's news channel are also coming soon in to the arena with Mathrubhumi channel, their will be a litereal News war is going to happen in Malayalam News channel history.
Mathrubhumi appointed NDTV as the consultant for setting up a news channel. The MD of Mathrubhumi group, Shreyams Kumar said that the content of their channel will be the USP.
