Trivandrum, 7 January 2012: The Government of Kerala has announced that it will build 11 'Model Fisheries Villages' in the State. The eleven Model Fisheries Villages includes Valiathura (Trivandrum), Puthenthura (Kollam), Arattupuzha (Alappuzha), Thrikkunnapuizha (Alappuzha), Chellanam (Ernakulam), Kaipamangalam (Thrissur), Poyya (Thrissur), Thanur (Malappuram), Marad (Kozhikode), Azhikode (Kannur), Ajanoor (Kasargod).
The government in association with the 13th financial commission plans a 60 crore project for development of these villages. The villages will get water, housing, electrification, sanitation infrastructe under this project..
