Monsoon to hit south Kerala within 24 hours

Trivandrum, 4 June 2012: The Indian Meteorological Department has announced the onset of monsoon within 24 hours in the southern parts of Kerala. Earlier the MET department has announced that the monsoon will reach the Kerala coast on June 1st, but later on predicted June 6th as the anticipated date.

The southwest monsoon has been swirling in the Arabian Sea for over a week now, but conditions are favourable now, MET officials qouted. Ahead of the onset of monsoon, rain is expected to occur at many places in Lakshadweep, Kerala,  Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu in the next 24 hours.
