Trivandrum, 20 July 2012: The Kerala Hotel and Restaurant Association has called for a state wide shut down of hotels and restaurants on 21 July Saturday. According to the association the shut down is for protesting against the harassment towards the hoteliers in the name of seizure of stale food.
The decision comes after the goverment closed down hotels following raids and finding stale food in many. According to official reports the government has closed down 14 hotels and issued notices to 283 in the state. The government also plans to issue licenses to those who supplies meat and vegetables to the hotels.
