Trivandrum, 24 July 2012: Pan Indian mobile operator Uninor announced that it will scale down its operations in four states in India including Kerala. Uninor a joint venture between Unitech Wireless and Telenor currently has operating licenses in 13 circles. The company will gradually scale down its operations in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Orissa to focus on its nine best performing circles. The nine circles are UP East and West, Bihar and Jharkhand, Kolkota, West Bengal, Mumbai, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Goa, and Gujarat.
The company plans to relocate its 400 employees in those circles to other parts of the country. Existing Subscribers of Uninor will receive a notice announcing a gradual shut down of the company soon.
