No Need to Wait, Get Check posts permits online


 Thiruvananthapuram: The check posts of the Department of Motor Vehicles (MVD) will be switched to online mode. People can now pay the permit fee online and not have to wait at checkposts.

Special permits for contract carriage vehicles in the State can be applied for at https://vahan.nic.in/nrservices/. Permission had been granted earlier at the relevant checkposts. Instead, they now have to submit an online application to the office where the vehicle is registered.

  Vehicles carrying passengers do not have to wait at check posts. They are only needed produce the permit online for confirmation. Permits for inter-state freight vehicles can also be obtained at the check posts before departure.

e-Sanjeevani Online OP for Bone, Heart, Muscle and Joint Problems launched


 The Department of Health has included the services of more specialty doctors for the tele-medicine service e-Sanjeevani. Doctors treating respiratory problems, skin problems, palliative care, ear-nose-throat and dental problems are available every day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

OP for eye and blood related diseases is available on Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

 The OP for bone problems will be available on Sunday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

The OP for cardiovascular problems will be available on  Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the OP for muscle and joint (polymyalgia rheumatism) Tuesday and Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. 

The health department estimates that about 2,000 people a day use the service. So far 1.5 lakh people have used the telemedicine facility. The public can access the website https://esanjeevaniopd.in or download the mobile app from the Google Play Store to access doctors via video conferencing.

Lockdown extended till May 20, 2021 in Kerala


Trivandrum: The Government of Kerala has extended the ongoing lockdown till May 30, while the triple lockdown enforced in four worst-affected districts will be withdrawn except in Malappuram, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said.

Triple lockdown has not been withdrawn in Malappuram district as the TPR is not under control.

Find nearest Covid Vaccination Centre and Availability through Whatsapp, FindSlot, GetJab, Under45, Google Sheet


Coronavirus vaccine center availability can be found out by visiting either CoWIN portal, Aarogya Setu app etc . Now the Tech world has introduced many ways to find your nearest Covid 19 vaccine centre and availabililty. 

Here is how

COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker for India

Vaccine Tracker google sheet has been made by developer Amit Agarwal. Visit Google Sheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NPBFLOvNpqGMKUzPEMKRczmV9nNer6Ysv8pEPhOsuPI/copy) and ‘Make A Copy' of it in your Google Drive Select Vaccine Tracker in the menu, and click on Enable.

Go to Vaccine Alerts and enter your pincode, your age eligibility, and select ‘Create Email Alert' button. The Google Sheet will run this monitor every day and send an email at 8am every day indicating the availability of vaccine appointments in your specified areas.


Under45.in

The website under45.in has been developed by Programmer Berty Thomas which shows appointments for people between 18 and 44 in order to make it easier to search

The site also has started to offer district specific alerts on Telegram, notifying users when the vaccine is available in specific areas. The links to enabling these alerts on Telegram can be found on Thomas' Twitter thread. 

GetJab.in

ISB alumni Shyam Sunder and his friends have developed a website called getjab.in to help users get email alerts on open vaccination slots nearby. The website sends email alerts to anyone who signs up asking for notifications on their district.

FindSlot.in

FindSlot.in uses the CoWIN open API to allow people to search by their city, or by their PIN code, or to enter their State and District to find the nearest booking for a COVID-19 vaccine.

Apart form these services WhatsApp has introduced the easiest way to find the nearest COVID-19 vaccine center.

Sent the message "Namaste"

It will ask for pincode

Enter the pincode and the chatbot will provide the list of vaccine centres

Indian Railways Helpline Number 139

 Trivandrum, 9 March 2021: Indian Railways has announced the integration of all railway helpline numbers into a single number. The new number available by dialing 139 will respond too all train travel related queries and complaints including speaking with a call centre executive, medical assistance, security, fare enquiry, meal booking and status of complaints.

Election Commission Apps: Voter Helpline C-Vigil App, Suvidha, Booth App

 Voter Helpline App

The voter helpline app (Voter helpline app) is an app that helps people check if their name has been added to the voter list, if not registered, to register anew, correct mistakes, and download a photo voter ID card.


BLO Net Mobile App

At the booth level, the BLO Net mobile app is an app that enables officials to check election documents, upload relevant information, and take action online on complaints received online or in person.





C-Vigil App, Suvidha

The CVIGIL App, which helps the public to report violations of the Code of Conduct, the Candidate App, which allows candidates to verify their status after submitting their nomination papers, and the Nodal App, which facilitates immediate action on the candidates' application, constituency law and election observers. Other enabled apps are the Observer app which helps in commission reporting.


The Booth‌ app

which will enable polling officials to quickly verify their voter ID card to facilitate voting, the Voter Turnout app, which will be published by the Election Commission on the day of the counting of votes, and the Personal With Applicability app, which will soon make the election process easier for people with disabilities.
