The Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB) is one of the leading science and technology research centres in the state of Kerala. RGCB was established in 1990 under the name Development of Education, Science and Technology (C-DEST). It is the first institute in the country to be named after Rajiv Gandhi after the death of the ex-prime minister in 1991.
The Institue conducts Ph D programmes, post doctoral training, Short term training, Specialised Training programmes, student scholarships and research programmes in Disease biology and molecular medicine, Plant biotechnology, Cancer vaccine and immunisation, nanoscience, Genomics, Neurobiology, Medical biotecnology and lot more
