Bharat Rice will be distributed to recipients by mobile stores. Mobile stores would sell 5kg and 10kg bags of Bharat rice. 200 locations will be opened by the National Cooperative Consumers Federation (NCCF) to sell Bharat rice in the state. The reason mobile shops are opening is that it will be late. In Thrissur on Tuesday, the central initiative to sell Bharat rice at Rs 29 per kg was launched. Within the next week, all districts will sell rice via automobiles.

Global Ayurveda Festival (GAF) 2021
Trivandrum 11 March 2021: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the fourth Global Ayurveda Festival (GAF) which begins on Friday. The inaugural session of the online event will be at 6pm on Saturday. The event will conclude on March 19. Kiren Rijiju, Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports and Union Minister V Muraleedharan will take part in the inaugural event. The festival will showcase international seminars, global exhibitions and business meets at five virtual venues between 9am and 10pm.
This event, organised in the high-end online platform by CISSA, will carry all the components, as in earlier GAFs, including an international seminar, expo, business meet, with the additional provision of viewing the digital platforms for an extended period of time. This, we hope, will be the largest online event in Ayurveda ever, and we solicit your dedicated support to GAF scheduled for 12-19 March 2021.

PSU Bank Strike Today; 2nd December 2014 Kerala
Bank employees of the southern states including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telengana, Pondicherry, Lakshadeep will strike on 2nd December. The relay strike will be continued by the Northern states on 3rd December and Eastern region on 4th December.
The strike is being organised by the Indian Banking Association (IBA) and the United Forum of Banking Unions (UFBU) demanding wage revision.

The registration can done online through the website www.ceo.kerala.gov.in or by visiting Collectorate, Taluk Offices, etc. The process of registering online is as follows
Visit the website www.ceo.kerala.gov.in and submit the application online. Applications received online will be handed over to the Booth Level Officer (BLO) of the concerned Polling Station for field verification. The Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) will dispose of the applications on the basis of the reports of the BLO. At the time of registration and disposal of applications, the applicants will get SMS informing the status. After enrollment the Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC) will be issued to the electors through the BLO or by post or from the Taluk Office concerned depending on the choice of the elector. A person need not visit any office either for enrollment in the Electoral Roll or obtaining the EPIC.

Train No.00651 Chennai Central – Kochuveli PREMIUM superfast special train will leave Chennai Central at 16.30 hrs. on 08th, 15th, 22nd, 24th and 29th December 2014 and reach Kochuveli at 06.20 hrs. the next day.
The composition of the trains will be 2 AC 2-tier, 3 AC 3-tier, 14 Sleeper Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches.

Kerala Tourism launches Hop-on Hop-off boat and Water Taxi services
The hop-on hop-off services will cover places like High Court Jetty, Marine Drive, Bolgatty Palace, Vypeen, Fort Kochi and Mattancherry
The air-conditioned boats can accomodate 25 persons and the air-conditioned taxis six persons at a time. The services will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The water taxis will have a single ticket rate of Rs.350 on the boats to travel to Marine Drive, Bolghatty, Vypeen, Fort Kochi, and Mattanchery any number of times during the day.

KSEB Call Centre launched; Dial 1912 for Power Supply Failure, Electrical Complaints
Inauguration of the new Centralized Call Centre and Data Centre of Kerala State Electricity Board will be done by Shri. Araydan Muhammed, Hon'ble Minister for Electricity on November12, 2014 at 4 pm.
KSEB customers can avail the Call centre number 1912 to notify power supply failure, electricity line complaints, bill related complaints etc. The call centre will be functioning 24 hours using an interactive voice response system and also a human assistance with the help of 50 KSEB staffs.
The call centre service will be initially available at 43 towns under Restructured Accelerated Power Reforms Development Programme (RAPDRP). which includes Trivandrum, Kochi, Kozhikode, Kollam, Guruvayur, Kottayam, Thiruvalla, Malappuram, Perinthalmanna, Tirur, Alapuzha, Kunnamkulam, Attingal, Cherthala, Neyyatinkara, Varkala, Kayamkulam, Kannur, Thrissue etc.

1099 Toll Free Number for Kerala Police Assistance in Road Accidents
Thrissur, 24 October 2014: The Kerala Police have launched a toll-free helpline number for the public for seeking police assistance during accidents. The toll free number 1099 will provide help from the police authorities in bringing accident victims to hospital. The announcement of the new facility comes after popular request in the facebook page of the Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala.
The service will be introduced in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi followed by other states soon. It was decided earlier to authorise Circle Inspectors to reimburse the amount spent on bringing victims to hospitals. Other contact numbers in case of emergency are as follows

New Auto Rickshaw Fares 2014-2015
Thrissur, 4 November 2014: The Kerala Motor Vehicles Department has announced the revised autorickshaw fares. According to the new fare chart, the minimum charge for travelling a distance of 1.5 kms is Rs. 20. Fare after the minimum travelling distance is Rs. 1 per 100 metre.
Highlights of the fare revision is as follows
Additional fare of 50% of meter charge for travel between 10 pm to 5 am.
Fare between 5 am to 10 pm - Meter charge plus 50% of the amount after substracting Rs. 20 from the Meter charge. However this is not applicable in Thrissur, Trivandrum, Kollam, Kochi, Kozhikode corporations and Kannur Palakkad and Kottayam towns. In these places only the meter charge will be applicable. For two way journeys fare will be equal to the meter charge.
Waiting charge - 10 rupees per 15 minutes and a maximum of Rs. 250 per day.

Hornbill Handloom Brand from Kerala Handlooms
The limited edition 'Hornbill' apparels were launched by the firm which consist of a collection of 60 garments in 20 designs.
The brand has been envisaged by six youngsters passed out from College of Engineering, Trivandrum who partnered with the government for a project called 'Operation Phoenix'.
The fabrics are woven from high quality silk and cotton from Balaramapuram in Trivandrum and Mayyil in Kannur.
