Thrissur Pooram, one of the most spectacular of festivals in Kerala, will be held on May 12, 2011 at Thrissur.
It is the biggest temple festival in Kerala celebrated at Thekkinkad Maithanam of the age old Vadakkunnathan Temple in Thrissur district. More than 50 elephants will feature in the festival which is regarded as the pooramm of all poorams.
The festival of Thrissur Pooram was started by Sakthan Thampuran who unified the 10 temples situated around Vadakkunnathan temple and made two groups called Thiruvambady and Paramekkavu.
The event will be live telecasted in all television channels and online
