Trivandrum, 10 January 2012: The Kerala University syndicate has decided not to appeal against the Lokayukta decision to cancel the appointments to the Assistant Grade II posts in the university from 2008.
In the Syndicate meeting held yesterday, the decision has been made through voting in which ten UDF members voted for the motion and eight LDF members against it.
Earlier the Lokayukta Justice Sasidharan cancelled the list of candidates and appointments which was done by the University since 2008 due to lack of transparency and corruption. The Lokayukta had also directed to take action against the then vice chancellor M.K. Ramachandran Nair, the then pro-vice chancellor V. Jayaprakash and four syndicate members - B S Rajiv, A A Rasheed, K A Andrews and N V Russel.
Around 180 assistants had been appointed from the rank list in which 149 members are currently in the service.
