Covid Vaccination for 40 plus in Kerala


 Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that Kerala will give the first vaccine to everyone above the age of 40 by July 15. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that a strong campaign will be launched to achieve the goal.

Speaking at the core committee meeting at Covid-19, the chief minister said about 50 lakh people of this age would have to be vaccinated and the state would get 38 lakh doses by the end of June. All will be protected by mid-July.

Meanwhile, 17,328 cases were reported in the state on Saturday. When 205,000 samples were tested, the test positivity rate was 14.89 percent. The state has been reporting TPR below 15 per cent for the last two days. Active cases also fell to 1,67,638 on Saturday. Thiruvananthapuram reported a maximum of 2,468 cases, Malappuram 1980 and Palakkad district 1899 cases. But deaths are on the rise. The death toll from the eruption has risen to 209 from 9,719. The state has been closed since the first week of May and is expected to end on June 9.
