Trivandrum Railway Enquiry 139 Rail Sampark Phone Number

INTEGRATED TRAIN ENQUIRY SYSTEM - DIAL 139

With the introduction of third phase of the high-tech train enquiry system called Integrated Train Enquiry System (ITES); ‘Rail Sampark’ of the common country-wide Telephone No. 139 in the southern parts of the country today, this significant passenger friendly initiative is now available for general public of sixteen states and five union territories.

In Chennai, the Minister of State for Railways, Shri R.Velu today inaugurated the third phase of ‘Rail Sampark’ Train Enquiry No. 139 for the South Zone Hub, which will cover Andhra Pradesh, Karnatka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. Earlier, the North Zone Hub covering Delhi & NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttrakhand and Chandigarh was inaugurated in July 2007 while the West Zone Hub covering Maharasthra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhatisgarh, Gujarat, Goa, Daman & Diu, Dadar & Nagar Haveli was opened in September 2007. The final East Zone Hub will become operational later in this month.

Under this system, the MTNL and BSNL subscribers in the covered area may make a local call at telephone No. 139 (without requiring STD facility) to get basic enquiries pertaining to train journey like arrival/departure of train, status of availability of seats, train fare etc. Highly skilled and trained customer care executives have been deployed at this Call No. 139 to provide 24X7 Customer Care Services. This service will ultimately also be made available to all general public in the country who may subscribe to any telecom service provider irrespective of the type of telecom service (basic, mobile, WLL).

In addition to Hindi and English, enquiry services will also be available in regional languages. The work of implementation of Integrated Train Enquiry System (ITES) is based on public-private partnership (PPP model). Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), a PSU under Ministry of Railways along with another Railway PSU, Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) are responsible for rolling out this project across the country. Execution of ITES in the country is being done by M/s Bharat BPO and BSNL.
