V. Surendran Pillai, the only Kerala Congress MLA, was sworn in as minister in the CPI (M) led LDF cabinet in Kerala. He will be in charge of the ports and youth welfare ministry.
He gets the portfolio from minister M. Vijayakumar, who has been handling the youth affairs ministry for the last 4 years. With his induction, the strength of the VS Achuthananthan led ministry comes to 20.
Meanwhile Shri. M. Vijayakumar has given public works department, which was being handled by Finance Minister Thomas Isaac.
