Kerala Assembly Election Results 2011 on May 13, 2011

Trivandrum: Kerala recorded a polling percentage of 75.12% in the assembly elections held yesterday. Trivandrum district recorded the least voters turnout with just 68.3% of the total electorate.

However the polling percentage in the Northern districts were much higher compared to the southern districts. The polling percentage of various districts in Kerala as provided by the Election commission is as follows:

Kannur 80.7%
Wayanad 73.8%
Kozhikode 81.3%
Malappuram 74.6%
Palakkad 75.6%
Thrissur 74.9%
Ernakulam 77.6%
Idukki 71.1%
Kottayam 73.8%
Alappuzha 79.1%
Pathanamthitta 68.2%
Kollam 72.8%
Thiruvananthapuram 68.3%

In Trivandrum Varkala recorded the most polling percentage with 72.5 and Thiruvananthapuram constitutency the least with just 60.2%.

Polling was generally peaceful all over Kerala. Leaders of CPI(M) and the Congress were positive about the poll outcome.

The results will be available on May 13, 2011.
