Trivandrum, August 26, 2011: The new headquarters building of Asianet will be inaugurated at Nishagandhi Auditorium, Trivandrum by Defence Minister AK Antony on August 27. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, opposition leader VS Achuthanandan, Speaker G Karthikeyan, M T Vasudevan Nair, etc will attend the function.
The event will be followed by cultural performances by Mattannoor Sankarankutty in Thayambaka, Vineetha Nedungadi in Mohiniyattom etc.
A seminar on "15 years of Indian journalism: today and tomorrow" will be held in connection with the function at 11:30 am at Kanakkakkunnu. The seminar will feature eminent journalists like PTI Chairman M P Veerendrakumar (Mathrubhumi) , Thomas Jacob (Malayala Manorama ), Vinod Metha (Outlook), T J S George, Media Development Foundation Chairman Shashi Kumar and former MP Sebastian Paul etc.
The new Asianet News complex will be located at Housing Board junction, Trivandrum and will house the Asianet news studio, corporate office etc
