Trivandrum, August 10: City is all set to start the total computerised traffic security system called 'Intelligent Enforcement System'. A trial version has been succccessfully completed in the city with fully automated camera fixed in two major rush-points, Kawaudiar and Over Bridge.
The trials of the system is a big hit and the inauguration of the project will be on 9th August by Oommen Chandy, C.M. of Kerala.
The IES, is actually a 'virtual loop' system where secret cameras are fixed in all important traffic signals, which is connected to the server of transport department.
If anyone ride in over speed mode or follows faulty traffic rules then the details of the vehicle and the name, details of the vehicle owner,license details, ten digital pictures of the faulty action of the wrong doer and the amount he/she has to pay as fine will reach the machine which is kept by the duty traffic officer and the field staff.
Also it provides a one minute long video clipping of the faulty action. The machine resembles to a satellite phone has facility to get instant print outs.The machine is designed by K. Sabareesh, State IT Mission Co-Ordinator.
