Trivandrum: 21 September 2011: This years The Hindu Young World Quiz will have its grand finale at Trivandrum on November 14, 2011.
The annual Quiz competition conducted by The Hindu Newspaper for school students will start its south Indian version at October 10 at Madurai and will have regional rounds at Tiruchi, Coimbatore, Salem, Chennai, Puducherry, Tirupathi, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mangalore, Hubli,
Kozhikode, Kochi, and Thiruvananthapuram centres. V.V. Ramanan will be the quiz master for all centres.
School students from Classes VII to IX can participate in the event. A school can send a maximum of four team, The winner from a centre will qualify for the grand finale.
The winners of the grand finale will get a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 and the runner up will get a cash prize of Rs. 40,000. Two Tata Nano cars sponsored by Tata Motors will be given to the members of the winning eam. The third prize holders will win Rs. 30,000 and winners till the sixth positions will get cas prizes upto Rs. 10,000.
