Motor Vehicle Strike on August 6, 2018

Trivandrum, 4 August 2018: Motor vehicles organisations has announced a 24 hour strike starting from the midnight of 6th August, Monday. Autorickshaw, Taxi, Lorry, Private Bus, Mini Lorries will participate in the strike against the proposed Motor Vehicle Amendment Bill.

SSLC Examination Dates Kerala 2019

The SSLC Examinations 2019 will be held from March 13 to 27, 2019. The change in the earlier announced dates has been done to make up for the loss of working days due to rain and Nipah virus outbreak.

The newly announced exam dates include March 13, 14, 18, 19, 20, 21, 25, 26, and 27.

The schedule of annual examinations in schools are March 15, 16, 22, 23, 28, and 29.

The SSLC examinations were originally scheduled to begin on March 6.  Similarly the Higher secondary examinations are also expected to be held during these days, however the formal announcement is pending.

Water Supply to be disrupted in Trivandrum

Trivandrum, 03 August 2018: Water supply will be disrupted in different areas in Trivandrum due to the maintenance work at Aruvikkara. The supply will be disrupted from 8 am from 4th to 11 am 5th  August.

The affected areas includes Thampanoor, Chalai, Puthencotta, Manacaud, Fort, Pazhavangadi, Palkulangara, Kaithamukku, Sreekanteswaram, Sreevaraham, Attukal, Kamaleswaram, Ambalathara, Beemapally, Poonthura, Valiathura, Sanghumukham, Airport, Vallakkadavu.

DC Books Book Fair at Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium

DC Books is organising a Book festival at Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium, Trivandrum.

Education Bandh today 4th July, 2018

In protest against the police action against the KSU leaders and activists,  KSU has called for a state-wide educational bandh on Wednesday 4th July, 2018.

Several KSU members suffered injuries has been admitted to the Medical College hospital following the police lathicharge in the march against the self financing professional colleges in the state.

Theatre Olympics 2018 at Trivandrum

The 8th Theatre Olympics organised by the National School of Drama and Ministry of Culture will be held at Trivandrum from February 22, 2017 onwards. 

The plays include folk productions Purulia Chhau directed by Dilip Mahal and Nacha directed by JashiramSahu, and Maharathi Karna directed by Shrimant Sasane and international plays such as Sukara Asapuwa - A Place with Pigs directed by Jehan Srikantha Appuhami from Sri Lanka and Let it be Art directed by Gregory Ables from USA.

Other plays include Old Man and the Sea directed by Sasidharan Naduvil, Love Your Nature directed by Y. Sadanand Singh and Kamsavadham, a Nangyarkooth performance by Sindhu T.M. The admission for the fest will be open to all.

Nadanam Venulayam : Nedumudi Venu 40 years of acting career

Trivandrum 21 November 2017:  40 years of acting career of Malayalam character artist Nedumudi Venu will be held at 26th November 2017 at Trivandrum.

The programme organised by the friends of the actor is named " Nadanam Venulayam" and will be held at Nishagandhi auditorium at 6 pm.

The stage show is directed by TK Rajeevkumar and assisted by GS Vijayan. The music section will be handled by music directors Bijibal, M Jayachandran, Deepak Dev and Ramesh Narayanan.

Dance performance by Vineeth, Anu Sithara, Ansiba, Aparna Balamurali will be the highlight of the event.

The show is organised in association with Trivandrum film fraternity and Vayalar Ramavarma samskarika vedhi.

How to Dispose Old Sandals and Bags - Collection Drive at Trivandrum

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Trivandrum City Corporation has arranged a collection drive for old and damaged sandals and bags on July 29.

The sandal and bag collection centres will be opened at Poojapura ground, Jagathy ground, Putharikandam, Vanchiyur court junction, Pippinmoodu junction, Kazhakootam ward committee office, Beach HI office and Vattiyoorkavu ward committee office.

The counters will function from 8 am to 12 pm.

The Corporation also plans to collect other objects like glass, e-waste etc soon.
