Trivandrum, September 20: The 150th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore bringing a bundle of innovation to City's prominent cultural identity, Tagore Theatre.
The theatre will be transformed as Rabindra Bhavan as part of the 150th birth anniversary celebration of Rabindranath Tagore.
The project will be completed with the help of Central government. The expected cost of the innovation is Rs. 12 crores and it will be done thrugh three stages.
The inauguration of the primary stage will start on 22nd September 2011. The first two stages of development will add air conditioning, digitalised sound facilities, digitalised cinema projection, new seating and creation of a ramp.
The authority is also planning to add two lobbies and and a generator service block too. The third stage of development includes lawncreation, beatification and landscaping of courtyard, parking facilities etc..
The authority guarantees that the greenary which is the identity of Tagore theatre will be protected.
