The Longest Train Route in India: Dibrugarh - Trivandrum - Kanyakumari Vivek Express starts service this month

Trivandrum, 12 October 2011: The longest train in India based on the route/distance covered will start its operations via Trivandrum soon. The Dibrugarh - Trivandrum - Kanyakumari Vivek Express which has been announced in the railway budget of 2011 is all set to start its service from Dibrugarh in Assam this October.

The train will cover 4500 kms in one journey and will replace the Himsagar Express running between Jammu Tawi and Kanyakumari as the train which covers the maximum distance in India. Currently Himsagar Express runs the longest route which covers 3751kms.

The Dibrugarh - Trivandrum Kanyakumari Vivek Express is one of the four Vivek Express trains announced to commomerate the 150th birth centenary of Swami Vivekananda.
