Trivandrum, 12 January 2012: Karunya Community Pharmacy, a Kerala government project to offer essential medicines at affordable cost will be inaugurated today by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today. The first outlet of the Karunya Community Pharmacy will come up at Trivandrum Medical College campus near the OP block. The project implemented by Kerala Medical Services Corporation (KMSCL) plans to start Karunya Pharmacy at all government medical colleges, district hospitals and general hospitals in the state.
Currently 4800 life-saving drugs will be available at the outlets at a discounted rate. The outlets will work 24 hours and will be monitored by the authorities using web-camera.
