Trivandrum, 23 January 2012: The Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala plans a handful of new projects to give a face-lift for the popular tourist destination in Trivandrum - Ponmudi.
As per the information provided by the Tourism minister a new tourist amenity centre and a guest house will be raised at Ponmudi. The upcoming amenity centre will house an information desk, food court, handicraft shop, test area and modern toilets.
Also a new four star government guest house will come up against the current ailing guest house. The guest house will be named 'Ponmudi palace' and will have sixteen rooms and six suites. It will also have a restaurant, coffee shop, banquet hall etc.
Both the projects are planned at an estimated cost of 5 crores.
