Vanitha Film Awards 2012: Mohanlal, Kavya, Ashiq Abu Wins

Trivandrum, 13 February 2012: The Prestige - Vanitha Film Awards constituted by the leading malayalam women's magazine Vanitha and appliance maker TTK Prestige for the Malayalam films released in the year 2011 has been announced.  Mohanlal and Kavya Madhavan bagged the best actor and actress awards for the movies Pranayam and Gadhama respectively.

Veteran actress Sheela won the lifetime achievement award. Ashiq Abu director of the higly  successful movie Salt and Pepper won the best director award. Other awards are as follows

Best Screenplay - Renjith (Indian Rupee)
Best Supporting Actor - Anoop Menon (Beautiful)
Best Supporting Actress - Ramya Nambeesan (Chappa Kurish)
Best Villian - Vijayaraghavan (Venicile Vyapari)
Best Comedian - Baburaj (Salt and Pepper)
Best pair - Lal and Swetha Menon (Salt and Pepper)
Best Male Singer - Vijay Yesudas (Ee puzhayum - Indian Rupee)
Best Female Singer - Manjari (Chimmi Chimmi - Urumi)
Best Music Director - Bijibal (Salt and Pepper)
Best Debutant - Unni Mukundan (Bombay March 12)
Best Cameraman - Jomon T John (Beautiful)
Youth Celebrity Award - Dhanush

The award winners were selected by polls both online and offline by the public and no specific jury were constituted.
