Earth will be at its nearest point from the Sun on January 2, 2013 Wednesday 10:10 am, ass per the Planetary Society of India. Earth will be at Perihelion, the closest point from the Sun during January and at aphelion during July every year. However there will be not rise in temperature in earth even though the Sun is at the closest point.
