Kochi/Kerala 12 March 2013: Leading Handset maker Nokia has launched an innovative mobile handset insurance plan in association with New India Assurance company. Under this plan handsets purchased from a Nokia branded retail store can avail insurance coverage from thefts, burglary, damages, malicious acts etc.

To avail this service the customer have to pay a minimum insurance premium of Rs. 50 or 1.25% of the handset's cost. The insurance plan can be started while purchasing the phone by filling up the required forms.
The plan will be made available from March 14, 2013 onwards starting from Delhi/NCR, Jaipur, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Pune, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Cochin.
Nokia also offers pick up service, standby handsets, chargers, cashless repair under this service. In case of loss or damage the customer can walk into a Nokia branded retail store or call/sms. The insurance facility covers all new handsets in the Nokia range including the Lumia's
