Uber, Ola, Taxis to resume services in Green and Orange Zones.

The Government of Kerala has given nod to resume operations for online taxi services and other taxis in green and orange zones. The trips will be conducted by strictly adhering to the precautionary guidelines issued by the government, said operators. The Chief minister on Saturday said that inter-district service can be conducted for necessary requirements in green and orange zones. The taxi services can operate with one driver and two passengers.

Silver Line Kerala Semi High Speed Rail K-Rail Silver Line Alignment Map Stations

Thiruvananthapuram – Kasaragod Semi High-Speed Rail (Silver Line) Project is to be executed in the near future. The K-Rail Board has approved the detailed project and aligment report as per the proposal.

The 532 km SHSR corridor named Silver Line railway will connect Kasaragod and Thiruvananthapuram at a total travel time to less than 4 hours, compared with the present 10 to 12 hrs.

Silver Line will bring remarkable changes in local commute, by improving the travel time and quality of transportation. Every kilometre travelled by a person on semi high-speed rail is a kilometre not travelled in an automobile. There will be a substantial reduction in road accidents due to decongestion on roads. Silver Line also provides last mile connectivity using aggregate services and feeder services, which will transform people’s perception towards public transportation.

The Silverline project is undertaken by K-Rail, Kerala Rail Development Corporation, a joint venture company of Government of Kerala and Ministry of Railways for the infrastructure development of railways in Kerala.

Now Mobile Phone service at your doorstep during COVID-19

Trivandrum, 22 April 2020: The Kerala Mobilephone Vyapara Samithi has launched free mobile phone servicing for policemen, fireforce staff, health workers and others on essential duty during the lockdown against COVID-19

The initiative was first launched in Kozhikode and extended to Trivandrum and Kochi.

The mobile phone techicians visit the phone owners. The service is done free of cost and charges are levied for spare parts only. Some minor components are replaced free of cost too.

The service has been launched in Thiruvananthapuram at the electronics hub of Thakaraparambu, in association with the city corporation.

 Bicycle buffs in Kerala capital have launched an initiative to help bibliophilies by bringing their favourite books to their doorsteps. "Books By Bicycle"is an initiative by the bicycle lovers in Thiruvananthapuram,led by the Cycle Mayor Prakash P Gopinath.

 They offer the service of delivering English and Malayalam books and children''s literature at the consumers'' doorsteps that too with great discounts. All the leading book houses including the DC Books, Mathrubhoomi Books, Poorna Books, Chintha Books, Green Books, Cost Ford, Maithri Books and Modern Books collaborate with Books by Cycle.



 The volunteers, under the initiative, provide information on latest books and books in stock through their facebook page and group and Whatsapp group BOOKS by BICYCLE. KSEB: No fines upto 3rd May, Meter reading to start on 20th April

April 18, 2020: The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has informed that there will no fines on electricity bills which are paid till May 3rd, 2020. Cash counters will not be operational at offices upto May 3. The meter reading will begin from April 20 onwards only.
