Femina Miss India Calendar 2013 Shot in Kochi


Femina Miss India has launched its 'Femina Miss India Calendar 2013' at a function held at Goa yesterday.The calendar was unveiled jointly by Marc Robinson, Creative Director, Femina Miss India, David D' Souza and Ricardo D'Souza owners of Tito's and PFMI World 2012 Vanya Mishra, PFMI International 2012 Rochelle Rao, PFMI 2012 finalist Nikita Dutta



The calendar has been shot by photographer Jatin Kampani in Carnoustie Resort in Kochi, Kerala. The hair and make up of the models are done by Venus and styled by designer Gavin C. Miguel.

Benyamin's Goat Days long-listed for Man Asian Literary Prize 2012


Three Indian writers got featured in the Man Asian Literary Prize longlist of 15 authors. Writers Benyamin, Anjali Joseph and Jeet Thayil were listed in the selection list of Asia's most prestigious award for their works 'Goat Days', 'Another Country'  and 'Narcopolis' respectively. The shortlist for this years prize will be announced on January 9, 2013.

Goat Days which is the English translation of Benyamin's hottest selling Malayalam novel Aadujeevitham. It is a moving story about one of the great human concerns of the present century: migration in search of a better life. Benyamin who lives in Bahrain since 1992 is from Kulanada, Pathanamthitta.

Jeet Thayil  born in Kerala, India in 1959 and educated in Hong Kong, New York and Mumbai. He is a performance poet, songwriter and guitarist as well as a writer, and has published four collections of poetry.

Anjali Joseph was born in Bombay in 1978. She read English at Trinity College, Cambridge, and has taught English at the Sorbonne. Her first novel, Saraswati Park, was published by 4th Estate in 2010; it won the Betty Trask Prize, Desmond Elliott Prize, and Vodafone Crossword Book Award for Fiction in India.

Island of a Thousand Mirrors - Nayomi Munaweera (Sri Lanka)

Silent House - Orhan Pamuk (Turkey)

Honour - Elif Shafak (Turkey)

Northern Girls - Sheng Keyi (China)

The Garden of Evening Mists - Tan Twan Eng (Malaysia)

The Road To Urbino – Roma Tearne (Sri Lanka / U.K.)

Narcopolis - Jeet Thayil (India)

The Bathing Women – Tie Ning (China)

The 2011 Man Asian Literary Prize was won by South Korean writer Kyung-sook Shin for her novel "Please Look After Mom".

Sreekumar, Sree Visakh, New Theatre Online Booking Website merrylandcinemas.in launched


Trivandrum, 9 October 2012: The official website of the three Merryland owned cinema theatres in Trivandrum has been launched. The website www.merrylandcinemas.in has been inaugurated by actor Mohanlal today. The website will act as an one stop portal for online booking of cinema tickets of Sree Kumar, Sree Visakh and New Theatre at Trivandrum.

The website is powered by Ticketnew.com. Online reservation will open  from October 17 onwards.

Bigflix launches Malayalam Movies on Demand for Rs. 249

Trivandrum, 25 September 2012: Bigflix.com, India's first online movie on demand portal powered by Reliance Entertainment has launched its Malayalam movie service today.

Bigflix will now feature blockbuster movies from Malayalam which can be viewed via computers, tablets or mobile phones. The movies are available at a monthly subscription of Rs. 249.



The Malayalam service has been launched with 200 movie titles which includes movies such as Nadodikattu, Kaalapaani, Aaryan, Big B, Vanaprastham, Thalapavu, Gandhi Nagar Second Street, Aakashagopuram, Nivedyam, and lot more.
