The revamped railway line between Kollam and Punalur which has been converted from meter guage to broad gauge will open today.
Union Minister of State for Railways E. Ahamed will commission the line and flag off the new train services in Kollam railway station at 11.30 a.m.
The conversion work of the 44 km railway line was started in 1998, but the work was delayed which later restarted in 2007.
Two trains each, both in the morning and evening will be offered in the line.
