Tele-Marketing Calls to Start with '140'

Trivandrum, September 6: TRAI introduces a new method to control Tele-marketing calls.

All Tele marketing calls will get a uniform first three digits, means all tele marketing calls will start with 140, which helps the consumer to know the call before attending it.

TRAI has given the last date to mobile phone service providers on September 27, to stop business calls and tele marketing calls.

According to the new setup if a consumer registered in DND [do not disturb] he/she willnot receieveany marketing calls.

All tele-marketing callers are provided with new land phone numbers starting with 140 for the pupose of simplifying the issues related with tele marketing disturbances.
