Trivandrum, October 27, 2011: The most modern technology to analyse Breast cancer is now in Regional Cancer Centre Trivandrum. The equipment 'Breast Imaging and Biopsy Unit' will start working from November 1, 2011.
The new system can analyse Full Field Digital Mamography, Prone Biopsy, Sentinel Node Biopsy [with Ultra sound unit].
The equipment has been added to the Centre with the help of Women's Imaging Project, which is a Central Government sponsored programme.
The Full Field Digital Mamography will help to identify the small cyst and calcium spots, which can be avoided with a simple Biopsy.
