Trivandrum, December 29, 2011: City's first Passport Seva Kendra will start at Vazhuthacaud soon. This would be the 31st Kendra in India. The major advantage of the Kendra is that the applicant would know on his very first visit itself whether he would given passport.
The process is simple. The applicant must first log on to www.passportindia.gov.in to register and submit the application form and documents online. Then an online appointment can be scheduled with the Kendra. Then the applicant can reach the Kendra, a help-desk in Kendra will guide the applicant and recheck the documents and entries made. Then the applicant will be assisted in the verification procedures and fees collection.
The photograph of applicant will be taken in the Kendra and a biometric scan also will be done. After that there will be a varification in B and C counters by the government officials.
In the final stage, the applicant will be informed whether he is eligible for a passport or not. The national helpline number of the Passport Seva Kendra is 1800 258 1800.
