The government has decided to impose a fine on passengers sitting in the seats alloted for ladies in state owned and private buses. As per the new law the person will have to pay Rs. 100 as penalty for travelling in the seats allotted for special categories. This will also applicable for the seats reserved for physically handicapped, blind and senior citizens.
The section 111 of the Kerala Motor Vehicles Act 1998 will be modified to this extent.
Currently 25% of the whole seats are reserved as ladies seats.
