
Trivandrum: The SAT hosptial Trivandrum became the first government hospital in south India to succesfully assist the birth of the test tube babies.
The first test tube babies born in a government hospital in Kerala belongs to Nikhila and Suresh, couples from Neyyatinkara. The twins, one male and the other female was born at 6:30 am through a c-section surgery.
The gynaecology team included Dr. Sheela Balakrishnan, Dr. Anitha, Dr. Raji Mohan, Dr. Saravanakumar.
The cost for the procedure was just one lakh rupees compared to 5-6 lakhs in the private hospitals.
