 Thiruvananthapuram, 4 November 2020: Kudumbashree Mission will organise an  online shopping festival this festive season. The festival named Kudumbasree Utsav will be held from November 4 to 19 at the online shopping portal www.kudumbashreebazaar.com.

Trivandrum 25 June 2020: Kudumbashree's micro entrepreneurs are getting ready for the production of 'Ayurveda Masks' in addition to the production of reusable cotton masks and face shields that are helpful for health workers, they are engaged in. Kudumbashree stepped in to the production of Ayur Masks associating with the State Ayush Department. The Ayur Masks were devised under the leadership of Dr. S.Anand, Assistant Professor, Government Ayurveda Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram.

The face masks are produced in handloom cloth. The medicines like thulasi, turmeric etc which enhance the respiration process are blended into the cloth just like the colour is mixed. The efforts to bring Ayur Masks to the market through Kudumbashree units has just started. The initial discussions regarding the production of Ayur Masks were done a few weeks back. Following that, 10 Kudumbashree women from Manikandeshwara, Vandana units of Thiruvananthapuram corporation were selected for producing masks on an experimental basis.

The initial orientation process for Ayurveda mask production was held at the Snehitha Centre, Peroorkada, Thiruvananthapuram on 15 June 2020. Three-Day technical training was given to the selected enterprise unit members from 17-19 June 2020. Dr. Anand and Shri. Aju, Pharmacist from Ayurveda college led the training sessions for the production of Ayur Masks. Face masks were made mandatory by the Government of Kerala for everyone to fight against covid-19 pandemic.

JioMart Trivandrum

Reliance Jio has launched online grocery service JioMart in India.

The service is live across more than 200 towns in India including Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Jaipur, Kolkata, Delhi, Bengaluru, Trivandrum and some tier II cities.

The JioMart website has listed essential grocery commodities along with farm produce. The vegetables and fruits will be directly sourced from farmers. Along with grocery other items like consumer goods and FMCG will also be delivered. JioMart has launched an introductory offer of a 5 per cent discount on maximum retail price for products. JioMart aims to compete with Flipkart, Amazon, Cure.Fit, Paytm, Swiggy, Zomato, Meesho etc

Now Sanitiser Wrist Bands

 Kerala State Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Limited is all set to launch sanitizer wrist bands. The sanitizer bands has been developed by Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology  for fighting the Corona virus. 

The sanitizer band, to be priced at around Rs 200 for a piece, has been designed as a reusable dispenser, which could be refilled every time it gets empty. If one wears it on the left wrist, sanitizer could be sprayed on to the left palm using the right hand. The bands in the shape of a watch will be made with a special PVC (polyvinyl chloride) used to manufacture blood bags  reports media.

The bands will be made available through Kerala Medical Services Corporation Limited (KMSCL), Consumerfed, and Kerala Civil Supplies Corporation.

Currently designer sanitiser dispensers in the form on pen, spray bottles etc are becoming the trend.

Reliance Jio in collaboration with Facebook has launched the Jio Mart in India. Currently the service is available in Navi-Mumbai, Thane and Kalyan and expected to be launched nation wide soon.

The Reliance JioMart is an online grocery delivery service JioMart which connect the offline retailer to online customers.

Customers can initiate an order by texting “Hi” to +918850008000, which prompts a link that opens a mini store on the browser, allowing them to pick a range of grocery products including toothpaste, snacks, tea and coffee, rice, and cooking oil.

On just typing 'Hi', the company will then send a link to the customer's Whatsapp account.

Once the user taps on the link, it will take you to JioMart’s page where they’ll be asked for their mobile number, area, locality, the rest of the address and the full name of the person ordering. After that the user will redirected to the catalog of products.

After selecting the items that are required, JioMart will share the list of things with the local shop on WhatsApp. Once the items are packed and billed, the customer will receive an alert with the store details.The mode of payment has been limited to cash only.

Sakhavu Khadi Shirts and Dhoties launched

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Khadi Village Industries Board has launched 'Sakhavu' brand of shirts made of pure Khadi.

The Sakhavu Shirts will be available in tinted red colour effect along with other colours. The Khadi board also plans to launch Sakhavu brand of mundu/dhoties too. Last year the Khadi purdah made of Manila cotton launched by the board was a hit in northern Kerala.

The mobile mart, which was flagged off by fisheries minister J Mercykuttyamma

 Matsyafed fishetarian mobile mart will offer fresh fish from Vizhinjam which procure fish on the same day from the fishermen. The cleaned fish will be transported to city in insulated, AC van. As per initial plan, the mobile mart will conduct sale at secretariat/YMCA areas from 4.30pm to 5pm. From 5-6pm, the mobile mart will ply in the Sastamangalam/ Vellayambalam/Manaveeyam road. It will conduct sale in Pattom/Public Office areas around 6.30-7pm.

Fish will be delivered to the customer within 4 hours from the base station at Vizhinjam.
