Navodaya Appachan has been declared as the winner of JC Daniel Award 2011.
The award is the highest honour given by Kerala Government for life time achievement in film industry.
Navodaya Appachan whose real name is MC Punnoose is the veteran Malayalam film producer and director who is noted for superhit historical movies made under the banner of Navodaya.
Navodaya banner produced the first cinemascope movie (Thacholi Ambu), first 70 mm film (Padayottam) and the first 3D film (My Dear Kuttichathan) in Malayalam.
