Independence day celebrations at Central Stadium Trivandrum

The 64th Independence day celebrations will be organised on August 15, 2010 at Central stadium Trivandrum.

The official celebrations will withh the inauguration done by the Cheif Minister of Kerala by hoisting the national flag.

This will be followed by march past involving Kerala police, Fire and rescue force, NCC, Scouts and Guides, Sainik school, excise, jail department, etc. The presidents medals will be distributed for the police, excise and other departments.

The government has invited all people to take part in the Independence day celebrations.

Kamal Hassan to be honoured by Kerala during Onam

Actor Kamal Hassan, will be honoured by Kerala government and film industry during the inauguration of the 'Onam' week celebrations on August 22 in Trivandrum.

Kamal Hassan who has did many superhit roles in Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi movies will be honoured on his 50th year of acting in the event. The event directed by TK Rajeev kumar will be organised by Film Exhibitors Association, Film Exhibitors Federation, State Film Producers Association, Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) and Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce etc.

Indu Thampy Miss Kerala 2010 Winner Photos, Videos, Profile

Indu Thampy from Trivandrum has won the Miss Kerala 2010 title at the grand finale held at Kochi. Manju Raj from Shoranur, Palakkad became the first runnerup. Sonal Devaraj from Kannur secured the second runnerup title.

Get Birth, Death, Marriage Certificate Online Kerala

Kerala government has launched a website in which the Birth, Death or Marriage Certificates can be received online. The online service will be available at http://cr.lsgkerala.gov.in/

This site provides details of all births, deaths and marriages electronically registered in Local Governments (Registration units) where SEVANA application software of Information Kerala Mission is being used uninterruptedly for registering these events. Details of births, deaths and marriages that are registered and recorded in writing will be available after verification and digitalisation only.

Thee online Birth, Death or Marriage Certificates is the first of its kind project in India and the online certificates issued will be recognised as a valid document for all purposes such as admission to school.

Peroorkada Junction gets new Bus stop

One of the most busiest junctions in Trivandrum, the Peroorkada junction will offer some releif for the passengers from now.

NH Development - All Party Meet on August 17

The centre has taken a final decision not to reduce the width of the national highway from 45 meters. The centre will also not consider the demand of the state to exclude private partnership in the construction works. The centre would call for an all party meeting on August 17 to re-examine the demand of the state in this regard.

KSRTC Bus Front Doors for Women Entry Only

The Buses run by Kerala State Transport Corporation has decided to reserve the Front Doors Entry for Women Passengers Only.

The Order issued by the Permanent Adalat for Public Utilities, a judicial forum chaired by A Dennison, also asked the state-run transport service to earmark 25 per cent of the seats in buses for women passengers and enure that they got the quota when they travel. Asked about the order issued yesterday, a KSRTC spokesperson said the front doors were already meant for women and, also, one-fourth of the seats in buses reserved for them.
