HLL Lifecare Ltd to Open New Factory in Balaramapuram

Trivandrum, February 7, 2012:  HLL Lifecare Ltd will open a new packing and storage factory  in Balaramapuram, on the premises of Trivandrum Spinning Mills.

The foundation stone for the 51000 square feet building has been laid by the union minister of state health and family welfare Sudip Bandyopadhyay on February 6, 2012.

HLL Lifecare has taken 3 acres of land from Trivandrum Spinning Mills for 99 years lease agreement arrangement.

The state of the art 4 storeyed building would offer facilities for condom packing and storage. The estimated total cost of the project is Rs.17 crores.

The project is expected to generate employment for 300 people.

School IT Fest 2012 in Technopark

Trivandrum, February 1, 2012: The tenth State School IT Fest will start at Technopark, Trivandrum from today.

The fest will be with participation of more than 500 students form across the State. The festival will be conducted in the mode of an IT camp.

The competitions of Malayalam type writing, digital painting, web page designing, multimedia presentation, IT quiz and IT project presentations will be held for students.

Unnathi: A Kudumbasree Programme For Women in IT

Trivandrum, January 18, 2012: Kudumbasree has formed a state level consortium of IT units called 'Unnathi' to boost the entrepreneurial acumen of women in the IT sector.

The head office of the Unnathi will be in Thrissur. The group willfocus on upgrade of IT infrastructure and skills development in addition to facilitating access to expert assistance.

Akshaya e-District Project Extends to All 14 Districts

Trivandrum, November 30, 2011: Kerala Government’s e-governance programme, the e-District project has been resolved to extend to all 14 districts as announced during the Akshaya Day celebrations.

The Minister for Industries & IT, P K Kunhalikutty at the function of the Akshaya Day celebrations in Thiruvananthapuram, had announced that the e-District project will be extended to all the 14 districts of the State.

Currently, the e-District project covers only two districts of Palakkad and Kannur, where it was launched in 2010.

Annexe R.T. Office in Civil Station, Peroorkada: Now 2 R.T. Offices in Trivandrum Corporation

Trivandrum, November 11, 2011: The authority has decided to bifurcate the opertions of RT Office in the Corporation. For the purpose, some important actions of the office has been transfered to Trivandrum Civil Station, which is situated in Peroorkada.

The chief reason for the bifurcation is the uncontrollable traffic and crowd of the existing RT Office. So now an annexe of the RT Office will soon start its operation from Civil Station, Peroorkada. On the first stage the main operation which will transfer to civil station would be the 'Learner's License Test'.

The areas where comes under the limits of civil station i.e. Peroorkada, Vazhayila, Mannanthala, Nalanchira, Sreekaryam, Keraladityapuram will also come under the annexe's authority.

The civil station has arranged fees counters, exam conducting facilities and exam hall etc.. Also computers and office furniture are arrived. The taxes of private vehicles also would be collected in the first stage itself.

The decision on new register number giving to the new RT Office yet to decide. If authority decides to give a new registration, that will be KL-63, otherwise it will continue as KL-01.

Kerala Self Entrepreneurship Development Mission: Interest Free Loan Project to Commence on November 2011
